We are looking a Café Sous Chef to join our team.
About the position
The Needlemakers Café is 100% plant based. We run a simple but creative menu that consists of all day breakfasts and lunch menu, as well as sandwiches, cakes and pastries.
Normal working hours are 8am to 4.30pm over 5 days. We are open 7 days a week so you must be available to work weekends. Shift can either be set or vary per week.
You will work under our Executive chef who will create the initial menu and daily under our head chef but also run shifts when the head chef is off. Once settled you will be free to add specials, daily sandwich ideas and make changes to the seasonal menus along with our Head Chef.
You will be responsible for day to day running of the Café, ordering, health and safety and managing the team when Head Chef is off.
Weekly rota will be completed by the Exec Chef
What we are looking for
-Experience as a Café Sous Chef in a similar role.
– A passion for food and an understanding/respect for Plant-Based cooking is essential.
– Stable career history with sustained employment periods in each role
-The confidence to run the high passed café kitchen
-Dedication, motivation, and positivity
-Flexibility to cover shifts as required.
-Passion to deliver outstanding dishes whilst demonstrating good food knowledge.
-The ability to establish rapport and deliver high standards of service with a genuine and approachable manner
-Ability and presentation to work in a very open kitchen
-Ability to communicate confidently with front of house

Roughly 42 hours
£11- £12ph depending on experience
